Kyrgios too strong at the start of US Open

In the first round of US Open, Aljaž lost against an inspired Nick Kyrgios 46 46 46. Aljaž started a bit slow and was never able to fully get into the match due to excellent overall performance from Kyrgios.

Aljaž tested Andy Murray in Queens

After winning first round against Benoit Paire, Aljaž lost in the second round of ATP tournament in Queens against first seed Andy Murray 6:4, 6:3. After the match Andy praised the performance of Aljaž and confirmed that it was a tough match and that Aljaž played some very good tennis.

Aljaž lost third round of RG against Djokovic

Aljaž advanced to the third round of Roland Garros by first winning against qualifier G.Melzer (Aut) with result 4:6, 6:3, 6:4, 6:4 and after that in a very tight match Pablo Carreno Busta with 7:6(4), 6:4, 4:6, 5:7 6:2. In the third round, he played a very good match, but number 1. Novak Djokovic was just too strong.

Aljaž sets a second round clash with Rafa in Monte Carlo

After a comfortable first round win against Lucas Rosol (6:2, 6:3), Aljaž will now play second round match against Rafael Nadal.
