Aljaž won all three qualifying matches on the first grand slam in Australia. In the main draw he will play first round against Novak Djokovič. Aljaž said that he is looking forward to the match and also to be playing on the Rod Laver arena.

Aljaž to a bit short for his first ATP title

In today’s final of the ATP tournament in Chennai, Aljaž lost against Stanislas Wawrinka, a first seed and fourth on the ATP ranking. The players were close, but Stan was serving better and Aljaž was feeling a bit tired and this was enough at the end. Anyway Aljaž was very satisfied with the tournament and has already announced that he will be back next year.

Unbelievable win for the first ATP final

Today, after a very tight match, Aljaž was able to beat Robert Bautista-Agut with 3-6, 6-3 in 7-6(8) and earned a place in his first ATP final. In the process he saved 4 match point and at the end showed strong nerves and was able to finish the match.
In tomorrow’s final, Aljaž will play against Stanislas Wawrinka. This will be their third meeting in Chennai in as many years. Two years aga Aljaž won, lest year Stan won, so ...

Aljaž continued strong performances and after yesterday beating second seed and 14. on the ATP ranking Feliciano Lopez, today Aljaž won against Guillermo Garcia-Lopez with 2-6 6-3 6-2. Tomorrow he will chase his first APT final against a good friend Robert Bautista-Agut.

Aljaž started the new season strong and easily won three matches and qualified for the main draw of the ATP tournament in Chennai. He confirmed good form with a straight sets win over Lukas Lacko. Aljaž now plays second round against second seed Feliciano Lopez.

During the practice session Aljaž pulled his groin so he will not be able to compete on the few following tournaments. If the treatment will go well, he plans to come back on Tour at the end off the season.

In the quarter-finals of the ATP Challenger tournament in Maroco, Aljaž lost a very tight match against Robert Carballes Baena with 76(3), 26, 76(5). This was the match of many unexploited chances for Aljaž to win the match, so at the end he was a bit unlucky to loose.

Aljaž was not able to defend his last years title in Banja luka. This year he won first two matches, but was than stopped in the quarter-finals. He lost 4-6, 6-7(5) against Viktor Troicki, formally ranked 12 on the ATP rankings.

Aljaž did not manage to qualify for the last Grand Slam of the season in New York. In the last round of qualifications he lost against Peter Gojowczyk with 6-3, 4-6 and 3-6.
